Lloret De Mar, or just Lloret to the locals was built for Sports Tours and has been welcoming British tourist since the hippy days of the 1960's. Situated on the Spanish Costa Brava Lloret is a one hour drive from Barcelona and 40 minutes from Girona. It is a party town that is ideally suited to large University Sports Tours with its mix of lively bars and clubs, open until 5am and top notch sports facilities.

Accommodation

When you're not topping up the tan, chasing the opposition or in the midst of a full flung fiesta - there's a small chance you might want to sleep, or siesta as our continental comrades might say. Our hotels are situated right in the heart of the resort just a short distance from the night life and a stumble to the beach front and local sporting facilities.

Beaches

Lloret offers a host of golden sanded beaches that all annually receive the EU Blue Flag standard. With 7 beaches to boast all with different amenities Lloret's beaches can offer you what ever you are looking for be it water sports, showers, bars, restaurants, coastal walks and glorious views of the coast line.

Sporting Facilties

Lloret de Mar and the local area boast's a wealth of top notch sporting facilities and amenities so much so that the government of Catalonia has officially recognised Lloret as an outstanding Sports Tourism Destination. Lloret caters for almost every sport discipline you can imagine from Football to Athletics and Basketball to Water sports. Lloret is planning to soon open a new sport facility that will become one of Spain's top state of the art sporting arenas. This will include an Olympic sized swimming pool as well as a multi sport hall that will house 2500 spectators.

The trip departs from your university campus on the Saturday... kick back as you travel over night on one of our comfy executive coaches fully equipped with reclining seats DVD player and WC. Arrive in Lloret de Mar on the Sunday and check in and the check out what the resort can offer. Monday and Tuesday is the competition day for all you sports fans with the night time entertainments scheduled every night including our fancy dress themes and super star DJ's. Wednesday is the day of rest so just chill out on the beach or go site seeing to near by Barcelona. Then get ready for the final hectic night of SportsVest. Thursday is check out day and then board the coaches for the over night journey home. Arrive back at campus on the Friday.

Sports

Using the finest facilities in the region the SportsVest tournaments are guaranteed to be a highlight of the week, that's if you drag yourself out of bed after the previous nights entertainment. We've got two full days of fixtures to fight for your University in the SportsVest Tournament. Using some top notch referee's and umpires we guarantee your supporters will be cheering from the side lines to help your team pick up those awards on presentation night.

Basketball

As one of the most attacking games in the world with end to end action you'll obviously never see a 0-0 draw unlike some of our friends who kick the round ball. It's fast, physical and full of witty banter. The 2 day SportsVest tournament with separate Men's & Women's games will be hosted in one of the resorts top indoor venues. Awards will be giving out on presentation night not just for overall winners but for some of our other categories at the umpire’s discretion.

Football

Being the world's most popular sport we thought we'd offer you two different types of football action. Firstly there is full on 11 a side Football on some of the region's top pitches but to spoil you even more and to give you a choice we are also holding a soccer Sixes tournament at the same time. Both the tournaments offer a separate Men and Women's competition with the winners of each tournament being crowned champions on awards night.

Rugby

After a night out on the lash there is nothing that is going to sober you up like a tackle from an 18 stone prop. Rugby 7's is open for both Rugby Union and League players and the emphasis is on the social side more than becoming a World Cup winning team. The competition runs for two days with separate tournaments for both Men and Women with the overall winner taking the glory on awards night.

Netball

Snatch it, pass it, shoot it, score it.....Goal. That's Netball for you in simple terms, well you would think that if you were a boy. However it gets a little more technical than that. No contact, yeah right. Try telling that to an overzealous goal keeper after your first night on the tour juice. The SportsVest Netball tournament is based over two days starting on day two with plenty of games for everyone so make sure you bring a big enough squad to last the distance.

Beach Volleyball

Don't fancy staying in doors playing Basketball or Netball and want to work on your tan then beach Volleyball is for you. The mixed Beach Volleyball competition is open to all and is ideal for teams who just want to take part in some social sports rather than running around in the heat of the Football or rugby pitches. The winner of the 2 day tournament will be crowned on awards night with a few extra cheeky awards throw in as well for dunce of the day.

Hockey

Hockey! Hockey! Hockey!
Tour! Tour! Tour!
Tours were made for University Hockey Teams, full stop. Knowing that you like to play and party hard we are planning the Hockey tour to end all Hockey tours. A two day men's, women's and mixed tournament at some of the region's top facilities will ensure you play hard but our night time events will ensure you party hard.

Cheerleading

Cheerleading is fast becoming one of the most popular University sports around. That's why we've added it to our sports roster. Advanced and beginners squads are welcome and the event will be split into a Championship and Plate. There will be workshops for you to learn new techniques and skills that will help out with your stunting and dance. If you want to take part in the competition to impress our judges and win the Championship or Plate then this will be held on day two.

Flag Football - American Footballl

Flag Football has just been introduced to SportsVest by popular demand. Those of you who play the sport know exactly what it is about but for our SportsVest friends who don't it's a scaled down version of American Football without the helmets, pads and full contact. It's the American Football version of five a side Football. We'll be hosting a two day comp with the eventual winners being crowned on awards night.

Jeff Winter

We said SportsVest will revolutionise the University Sports Tours and we are keeping our promise. With a career span of over 25 years and many a premier league match under his belt the king of controversy JEFF WINTER! will be on the pitch to ref the final matches of the Football tournament and blow that whistle. What's more there will be a questions and answers session at the end of the game. So get your boots on because this is one opportunity not to be missed!

Scott Mills

The king of drive time radio and best friend of the Hoff, Scott Mills is to DJ at the exclusive SportsVest party. Famed for his hilarious items 'Scott Mills the Musical', 'Flirt Divert', 'Oh! what's occurring' and the 'Posh Radio 4 lady'. Scott is going to bring his banter and a few bottles of Pinot Grigio to the wheels of steel on the sunny Costa Brava so get your camera's at the ready for those Facebook profile pic's with a celeb.

Jaguar Skills

The mini mix marvel, the mash up maestro, the musical magician - you get the picture, Jaguar Skills is a total revelation! At SportsVest 2009 he left the crowds in a state of total euphoria.... and he will be back for 2010! Hoooooooo!!!!!

The Scratch Perverts

It's no easy task summing up the Scratch Perverts in a paragraph as they are totally unique! Their use of turntables, needles and mixers is both pioneering and mind blowing in equal measure. It's through sheer popular demand that we have them at SportsVest. With the lyrical lothario Dynamite MC by their side, the fusion of rock, rave, hip-hop, dubstep and dnb is bound to be breathtaking!
