Coventry - it is time to leave the books behind and have a well deserved break ...... We are off to Amsterdam!!!! Grab your bag, print your e-ticket and make sure you've got your passport on you because here we go! Make sure you get to the meeting point at least half an hour early to meet our rep, who will check you and your group on to the coach before setting off. To make the journey fly-by we recommend bringing along some of your favourite DVDs, your comfiest pillow and maybe a blanket too. Stops will be made along the way; but whilst you're travelling you might as well make the most of it!
Gooood Morning ! We have arrived; welcome to the Venice of the North, our flagship destination; the cultural mecca of Europe - Amsterdam! This is our home, our flagship spot and our friendly staff will greet you upon arrival and take you to your accommodation. They will also give you a brief introduction to city, a breakdown of your specific itinerary and provide you with some hints and tips too. Our staff will direct you to a safe-storage area within the accommodation; then we advise you to grab a bite to eat for brunch. The hostel is right in the heart of the city. We recommend getting the free ferry over the water towards the Main train station. You will find some great restaurants and cafes. The ferry comes every 15 minutes and is free of charge. The ferry takes a couple of minutes to get over the canal. Get your camera ready for some amazing views of the city.
14:00 is the standard check-in time so hopefully you will have grabbed some brunch and got your bearings around where we are staying. If you can't remember or don't know who you have allocated to room yourself with, then our staff will be on hand to help you identify who you are with whilst they are dispensing the keys out. After you have been checked-in, then you are free to explore the city! Do some shopping, visit the museums, or simply prop up at the bar! If you are up for getting involved with any of the extras we offer, like the bike tours or canal cruises and you haven't booked online; then just ask any member of our in-resort team. In the Clink, on a Friday we have Beer pong!! So get your team ready or maybe Coventry V Reps - competition is on!!
If the beer pong has given you an appetite then ask one of the Outgoing Reps to recommend somewhere to go grab a bite ...and you'll need your energy... tonight we will be taking you to the most popular student nightclub in Amsterdam. We will get you in for free and the bar will greet you with a free shot on entry too; then show your wristband at the bar to take advantage of the great drinks deals on offer. We will be leaving the accommodation at 9:30pm so make sure you meet us in the Reception! If a night out doesn't take your fancy ask one of reps for things to do whether its hire a bike and cycle down the red light district, sit in one of the unique restaurants on the canal front and watch the world go by or fancy a little bit of live music - to many live music venues to pick from but we will steer you in the right direction.
Rise 'n' shine; Breakfast is served from 8am - 10am and is included within your package, so start the day the right way.
Meet the rep in reception at 10am We are heading out to The Hague on the train. Your train fare is included in your package. The rep will take you around the beautiful buildings and into the International Criminal Court to look around the museum and exhibitions. You can always but a ticket into the Palace and the houses of Parliament - see the extras as you complete your bookings
We are offering two different types of bar crawls; a full-on party bar crawl within the popular Leidseplein clubbing district of Amsterdam or a more chilled out, bar tour of the Red Light District. Both offer a unique experience to the bars and clubs that Amsterdam offers. With free drink in each bar and both bar crawls culminating in the same student super-club; this is the ultimate way to spend your Saturday night! You must meet the reps in reception at 7pm. If you haven't already got your tickets you can buy them from the Outgoing staff - please remember you are not guaranteed a space booking in resort. To avoid disappointment we recommend you add this extra before you leave.
Breakfast is served - so feed that hangover and get ready for a day of exploring.
If you fancy a chilled out day, we suggest visiting one of the many parks in the city, like the Vondelpark or Westerpark; both have hidden gems and cafes within them to explore. If you're up for some site seeing though why don't you join us on our bike tour? If you didn't purchase it online then our resort Reps will get you booked on. It's an hour and a half tour of all of the 'Dams famous landmarks, including the Old Church, Red Light District and the canal network. If you're still recovering from the night before and aren't up for bike tour, later on this afternoon we're doing our reknowned canal cruise. It's a less intense way of seeing the sights, such as Anne Franks house and the Rijksmuseum; but without all the pedaling. Did we mention that there is also a free bar on the canal cruise?! Help yourself to some Heineken or wine as you meander through the canals.
If you can not handle another night out or it's not your cup of tea then why not join the reps for a classic scavenger hunt with an Outgoing twist!!! This is the Ultimate "Lost in Amsterdam" scavenger hunt - find and see all those things you nearly missed! Gather a team and get ready for your list of tasks and dares!!!
It's time to get checked-out! Make sure you have gathered all your belongings and have your passport in your hand-luggage as it will be checked at customs.
