Fun things to do

Church Of Our Lady

More bricks than Legoland! Visit the 'Church of Our Lady' to see the second tallest brick building in the world. Dating back from the 13th century, its tower stands at a whopping 123 metres. This however is not the sights main attraction; the church is thought to contain the only sculpture by Michelangelo outside of Italy, the famous 'Madonna and child'.... (& before you ask it aint the queen of pop and her new adopted baby).

Belfry Museum

Ding dong! A visit to the Belfry museum is a must for any visitor, you can climb to the top of the tower passing the giant clock mechanisms and its 47 bells, and when you reach the top, the tower offers you stunning views of the city and its surrounding countryside; fingers in those ears!

Choco-Story

A great experience! You are immersed in the ancient Mexican world of the Mayas and the Aztecs for whom chocolate was the drink of the gods and cocoa beans a means of payment. You'll get to find out all about the production of chocolate truffles, chocolates, hollow figures and bars of chocolate and even get to sample some.

Brewery De Halve Maan

The local brewery 'De Halve Maan' is the only family brewery that is still active in the centre of Bruges and is situated in the heart of the historical town. Daily guided tours are perfect for your group & will allow you to visit both the modern brewery and the museum. During the visit you will also enjoy an amazing panoramic view over Bruges... Great photo opportunities!

Diamond Museum

This museum illustrates to you the extraordinary history of Bruges as Europe's oldest diamond centre. Visitors obtain information on the mysterious world of the diamond, one of Belgium's most important export products.

Groeninge Museum

Groeninge Museum is one of the top traditional museums of fine arts in Belgium, and has an excellent collection of 15th to 20th century paintings from the Low Countries. The top attractions of the museum include the famous collection of Flemish Primitive art; works by Renaissance and Baroque masters; 18th and 19th century Neo-classical and Realist period paintings.

St. Saviour's Cathedral

St. Saviour's Cathedral is Bruges oldest parish church (12th-15th century). Worth seeing are the goblins, the choir, rood loft with organ (1619-1717), choir stalls and numerous fine paintings.

Flea Markets

A stone's throw from the heart of the city's bureaucratic center, the flea-market is great way to spend a Sunday morning. The boulevard of browsing is the perfect place to buy and sell all sorts of things, from the rarest antiquity to the most kitsch artefacts. Jeu de Balle Square and the area surrounding Blaes Road is the place to head. Be Outgoing: be prepare to haggle and compare prices at other stalls before impulse buying. Many vendors have an interest in what they sell and like nothing better than sharing their knowledge, as long as you share your Euros!

Nightlife

Bruges makes no attempt to be a wild nightspot (for big clubs and the bright lights it is better to make the short trip to Ostend, which has a healthy dance scene). Most of the 'action' here takes place in the streets in and around the old centre of the city - around every corner there is an inviting bar tempting you to indulge in the excellent Belgian beers this gem of a city possesses in abundance.

For big clubs and the bright lights its best to make the short trip to Ostend, which has a amazing dance scene.

Drinking rather than dancing is Bruges focus and Kant is no exception!

Kraanplein

With more than 150 sorts of Belgian beer to choose from, the two story bar is the perfect place to relax in the garden terrace during the summer months. If you're up for it, try one of the 'triple' ales, which start at eight percent proof - wobbly walk home guaranteed!

Insurance

Outgoing can provide insurance policies at 3 levels offering you comprehensive cover regardless of your budget. The policy is underwritten by Accident & General and provides an excellent 24 hour service via Europ Assistance. It’s better to be safe than sorry!
