Island OverviewIbiza is as popular today as it has ever been. Half a million visitors each summer continue to make the party pilgrimage to the white island in search of dance-floor intensity and the legendary Balearic beach chill out. But there's more to this magical island than smoke and lasers. Ibiza Town has plenty more to offer, including a charming old quarter, elegant restaurants, and a rich history. The north of the island is very under developed and hides an abundance of natural coves and vineyard-strewn countryside. |

The BeachesOne of the joys of being on this island is that, no matter where you are, especially when driving, you are never far from one of the many absolutely amazingl beaches or secluded little coves... You MUST vist at least one or two of the beaches we have outlined as you will not be disapointed.

Formenterra Day TripIbiza’s little sister island. Although only 25 mins away on the ferry (from Ibiza Town), Formentera is a million miles away in feel - no nightclubs, loud music or football shirts… and very few cars. Most folk travel around this idyllic seahorse-shaped isle on two wheels. There are plenty of places to hire cycles from – and the beach at Ses Illetes is only a 15 minute ride from the ferry port of La Savina. A really, really great day out! |

The Hippie MarketsPsst, wanna buy some baggy white trousers, a leather belt or floppy hippy hat? Or how about a chill out CD or ethnic jewellery? Whether you’re looking for a stylish souvenir or just want to sit back with a cup of ice cold mint tea and people watch, the hippy markets at Las Dalias (Wed) and Es Cana (Sat) are the ultimate Balearic shopping bonanza! |

WaterpsportsYou can dive and look at sunken wrecks (as opposed to walking around the west end and looking at sunken-eyed wrecks), parascend, hire a jet ski or just pile onto a big yellow inflatable banana with your mates and hang on for grim death… all manner of water sports await! |

Boat CharterDo a P Diddy and hire your own luxury yacht. It isn’t as expensive as you may think and you can use your captain’s local knowledge to the max and ask him to show you Ibiza’s secret beaches like the mysterious Atlantis and the magnificently moody mountain isle, Es Vedra. |

Scooter HireScooters are just great for making daily runs to the beach or exploring the island by daylight. But after dark is another matter. We don’t recommend using a scooter to go clubbing. Ensure you get one with a mirror and beware of the one-way system around the backstreets of San Antonio – as the summer wears on, the road markings are rubbed off and most drivers will be in a hire car and unsure where they are heading! |

Tour of the Old TownDalt Villa (the old town) is a 5000 year old walled city which is topped by a cathedral. You’ll find the impressive gates behind Parca del Place, a leisurely stroll upwards through the artist’s studios, designer outlets and some tremendous restaurants will reward you with great views of Ibiza Town and the ever-growing Botafoch harbour. |

Sling Shot BungeeThe biggest head rush in San An! (and that’s really saying something…) The Slingshot bungee tower dominates the skyline, and dwarfs its glamorous neighbours, Eden and Es Paradis. The twin towers of terror are officially the World’s largest slingshot, an underwear-threatening 150 meters high. Once safely strapped in, it will release and propel you skywards at a velocity which makes you realize how a bullet feels. Also known as the “Vomitron” for reasons best left unexplained… |
Ibiza NightlifePut it this way, people don’t visit Ibiza to sleep! The island is the ecstatic epicentre of dance music and World renowned party place. Your night out kicks off with watching the day gloriously die; watching the sunset from a cool beach bar, perhaps followed by a quick tour of some of the keener priced bars in the West End, prior to hitting a super club after midnight (everything happens later in Ibiza, with the big clubs not filling up until 3am!). |
Cafe Del MarOriginal sunset bar and often overlooked beautifully designed “caff”. Outgoing tip: check out the interior… you’ll usually be able to find a window seat on the inside terrace to the left of the bar. You’ll sit there like the cat that got the cream as the sun gets lower and lower… |
MamboNoisy neighbour to Café Del Mar and credited as giving the world the ‘pre-party’- a ritual which involves necking as much party juice as you can before moving off to a superclub (where the drinks are considerably more expensive)! |
The West EndThe area made notorious by 'Ibiza Uncovered' is known as 'the west end'; four streets of shame where you can go to a dozen or more bars, get a dozen free shots!, make a dozen new friends (and probably snog a dozen strangers!). Recommended watering holes are: Play 2 (great sound system and air conditioned), Trops (intimate and sexy), Ground Zero and Hush (laughing gas a go-go!). |
Es ParadisAmazing glass pyramid with real foliage and a sunken dance floor…which is filled with a metre of water in the venues loony ‘Fiesta Del Agua’ (water party) |
EdenHome to Judge Jules’ ‘Judgement Sunday’ and Pete Tongs ‘Wonderland’. Good second room and even better intimate white VIP room upstairs. |
PrivilegeWorld’s biggest club. 8000 people plus, an Olympic sized swimming pool, a backroom with a capacity of 500 and seemingly more terraces than a Himalayan village conspire to create a unique night out which ought to be part of everyone’s clubbing education. Top tip: Graduate on a Monday at Tiesto for the best grades! |
Ibiza RocksThanks to Ibiza Rocks you can now watch some incredible live music whilst on holiday on ‘la isla Blanca’! With a line up which includes the likes of Keane, Pendulum, Klaxons and Dizzee Rascal every Tuesday night you have to put this in your itinerary... Plus, if you want, you can even stay at the hotel! |
SpaceA phenomena in that it’s primarily a daytime club – best witnessed on Sunday evening, when the venues flagship event ‘We Love…Sundays @ Space’ moves up a gear and the terrace fills up with beautiful people from four corners of the Earth. |
AmnesiaUntil you’ve stood in the main room at Amnesia and felt the immense power of the terror fog cannon. You ‘aint lived! Best visited on Monday (Cocoon) or Thursday (Cream). |
PachaMost influential of all the Ibiza superclubs, this former finca farmhouse is now the hub of a global brand which purveys house music in its finest form. |
