Aiguille Rouge

The tastiest dish on the Les Arcs menu is the mighty Aiguille Rouge. There are many places to hop over the ridge, each offering different challenges front and back.

Skiing & Boarding Overview

The skiing and riding in Les Arcs is amazing, its extensive runs cater extremely well for beginners while there are plenty of challenging slopes for the more experienced members of the group. Les Arcs is now one of the worlds biggest ski regions due to the opening of the Paradiski region last year. This sees Les Arcs directly linked with La Plagne through the Vanoise Express cable car. With 420 km of marked piste the Paradiski area is bigger than the world famous 3 Valleys!

Beginner

Although Les Arcs doesn't have many green runs, Outgoings chosen complex (Les Arcs 1800) is a great area for beginners. There's a large network of blue runs in this area, which are nice, open wide slopes with well groomed snow.

More Info

For some nice quiet rolling blue runs, which will ease you into the holiday, try either the Plan Vert piste, which starts just down from the top of the Transarc gondola, follow onto the Edelweiss run until you reach the Marmottes chairlift or try the Cascades run from the Bois de Lours chairlift to the Pre de St Esprit chairlift. Arc 1800 is truly a resort which caters for everyone. The runs here are wide and often tree lined ensuring plenty of room for those on their first week.

Intermediate

Les Arcs offers so much for Intermediates as most of the pistes are very well networked. Our hot tip is to head to the Vallandry area...the best place for intermediate skiers and riders.

More Info

In the Peisey-Vallandry area, from the top of the Plan Bois lift you will find a blue run which leads onto the red. Bellette; this is a wonderfully wide, fast run which if you turn right half way down, leads into Le Rhodos, a blue run which is nearly always empty and has a succession of rollers which are fun for everyone. The easier jumps in the snow park will also provide entertainment, for those feeling brave enough!

Close

Advanced

There are plenty of steep reds and blacks to explore, the steepest being Robert Blanc down the face of the Aiguille Rouge area. Advanced freeriders should also check out the snow park which consists of challenging rails, kickers and a halfpipe.

Freestyle & Snowboarding

Les Arcs has very firm roots in snowboarding history as a favourite place to ride and the season destination choice for many of the Pro's. Back in 1981 Regis Rolland (who later began the snowboard manufacturers 'APO') was given a snowboard to try out and soon began to break new ground in snowboarding styles and tricks.

More Info

The Regis Rolland designed Snow Park and Half Pipe are enough to satisfy most freestyle appetites as well as the natural Freeride terrain found all over the mountain which is great for getting airborne as you cruise around the pistes. If you're taking your skiing or boarding to a different level, then try Apocalypse Parc which has lots to offer, ranging from blue level jumps to black, it also has rail slides, a spine jump and for the really adventurous - a gap jump. Or if you are into testing your speed, try the boarder cross for both skiers and boarders alike.

Glacier

Oh yes! The dominating Aiguille Rouge glacier at 3226m is the opening to over 12km of runs down into Villaroger. Due to its height, this area gets great amounts of powder. You can also ski one of the longest runs in the world from the top of the Les Arcs glacier at 3220m down to 1200m where you arrive at Villaroger.

Apres Ski

We understand that a tailored Apres ski program is a fundamental part of your group’s holiday experience and we will work closely with you to build a program that works best for your club. Les Arcs has many different levels, and our selected option, Les Arcs 1800 is the most lively of them all (quelle surprise!). Below are a few of the bars and clubs we work with and some options in regards to entertainment and activities that we can build into your program.

Our Favourite Bars and Nightclubs:

  • Apokalypse
  • Ambiente
  • Red Hot Saloon
  • Chez BouBou’s
  • Jo’s
  • Barking Mad
  • Before Café
More Info

The Red Hot Saloon

Liveliest bar in town, with spacious, sprung dance floor, friendly staff, and some cracking live bands.

Ambiente Cafe

Beware of the Karaoke nights, cheer on your team on the big screen and knock back the great house shooters: an Outgoing fave!

Jungle Cafe

The theme in this steamy watering hole is very un-alpine. There's a beautifully spray-painted mural of a female African face dominating the back wall and cutting-edge reggae providing the soundtrack. Safari-so good!

Apokalypse

Ok so they can't spell. But then nether will you after emerging from here at 4am! The ultimate late, late show! Popular with insomniacs, lovers of life and locals with confused sexuality?!

Bespoke Apres & Events

DJ's & Bands

One of the things that we do really well is throw a party in the mountains (Snowbombing & Winter Break are prime examples). Talk to us about what your group is after as we have strong relationships with many major acts and agencies. So whether its a live band, DJ or club night your group are after - its not a problem. We can arrange this as either an extra element to your holiday (resort and numbers dependant) or as a promotional night in your city. See for yourself below...

Valley Rally

The Valley Rally is no doubt a student ski institution, one of the best days of your tour and one of the funniest days on the slopes for your group. Outgoing has run countless Valley Rallies over the years - so be prepared for lots of stupidity, debauchery and a range of ridiculous challenges at the checkpoints all around the mountain! Fancy dress is essential...

Meal on the Mounatin

One of the highlights of every group ski holiday is the ‘Meal on the Mountain’. It's one the best opportunities to get your whole group together for one HUGE party and a whole lot of ‘Fromage’. These vary from resort to resort as we take over a restaurant on the mountain or in the village for a typically French fondue, with a typically student attitude – table dance anyone?  Les Arc is one of the best resorts for the 'Meal on the Mountain' as you can ski back down the slopes under a torch light!

Group Race Day

For some universities racing is a very important aspect, while for others it is more about having a laugh. Whatever your motivations Outgoing can organise this for you. It will always be run professionally with experienced staff (traditionally we do this in conjunction with the resort ski school).

We guarantee:

  • Free entry for competitors
  • No charge for race set up
  • Experienced staff to oversee racing (we have a partnership with Kings Ski Club)
  • Please note – racing is weather permitting and some resorts may charge for piste hire so please ask if this is available in your chosen resort
