Skiing & BoardingSerre Chevalier is B-I-G – “Le Grand Serre Che” has 250 kilometers of north facing pistes for everyone from nubies to downhillers. Yet because of the number of entry points to the region, queuing is rarer than yeti poo in these parts. You’ll find the most snowsure high above the tree line at 2000 metres plus… However all ability pistes are plentiful and spread around the mountains, so you can feel secure whilst exploring if you’re still working out your parallel turn from your snow plough! Another option for tired legs is the bonus of simply bussing back if you are tired or relaxed. The runs, cut in and above a large, larch forest, are on the North side of the high long ridge. There are many bowls, valley descents and high off-peak faces. There‘s a good selection of reasonable off-piste which either feeds back to the system, or goes to another area included in the lift pass. Serre Chevalier's snow condition is exceptionally good due to the ‘holy trinity’ of snow :a) aspect - it is North Facing, b) altitude - the majority of the skiing is on the top half and the trees protect the lower slopes and c) grooming - snow cannons build and protect the base of the valley pistes and the grooming is good. Ding, dong! |
BeginnerBeginners have gentle trails leading to all the villages and well prepared beginner slopes up on the mountain. There are excellent gentle beginners’ runs next to Villeneuve village. Intermediates can ski through the Parc National des Ecrins in some of the most glorious scenery in the French Alps, including the long red runs from the Prorel, Aiguillet and Eduits. |
IntermediateGet your goggles – you’ve pulled! This place is an intermediates white dream, with a mixture of ace long carving’n’cruising trails up to 10km (6 miles) long). At Bachas above 1500 there are lots of runs criss-crossing down through the larch forest . Favourite trails include Le Petit Alpe, Grand Gargouille and Bois des Coqs. The lift pass also takes in Montgenèvre on the Italian border, from where it is possible to ski, if conditions are right, all the way over to Sestrière and Sauze d'Oulx in Italy, although you need to purchase an 'add on pass' and start early to be able to do so. |
AdvancedThere are also fantastic challenges for advance skiers – bump fiends will enjoy a knee trembler on the moguls en route to Le Bez, while those with a need for speed will be left breathless after tackling the “Olympic Luc Alphand” black run. And if that ‘aint enough to leave you wanting the bar rather than the T-bar, check out the chutes and gullies through the trees on “the Porridge” trail. Finally, there are five cross-country trails in the valley of varying length and difficulty. |

Bespoke Apres & Events |
DJ's & BandsOne of the things that we do really well is throw a party in the mountains (Snowbombing & Winter Break are Outgoing events). Talk to us about what your group is after... as we have the relationships and contacts with many major acts and agencies. So whether it is a live band, DJ or club night your group are after - we have no problem helping to arrange this as either an extra element to your holiday (resort and numbers dependant) or as a promotional night in your city. |
Valley RallyThe Valley Rally is no doubt a student ski institution, one of the best days of your tour and one of the funniest days on the slopes for your group. Outgoing has run countless of them over the years - so be prepared for lots of stupidity, debauchery and a range of ridiculous challenges at the checkpoints all around the mountain! Fancy dress essential... |
Meal on the MountainOne of the highlights of every group ski holiday, the ‘Meal on the Mountain’ it's one the best opportunities to get your whole group together for one HUGE party and a whole lot of ‘Fromage’... These vary from resort to resort as we take over a restaurant on the mountain or in the village for a typically French fondue, with a typically student attitude – table dance anyone? |
Group Race DayFor some universities racing is a very important aspect, while for others it is more about having a laugh... Whatever your motivations Outgoing can organise this for you... It will always be with run professionally with experienced staff (traditionally we do this in conjunction with the resort ski school).
