Fun things to do |

La Sagrada FamiliaPerhaps the most famous of Antonio Gaudi's buildings in Barcelona and a postcard image favourite. The church is absolutely beautiful... To get the most out of your groups visit to this must-see site, climb the winding spiral staircase. It offers some amazing views! Admission to the cathedral costs 9 Euro, but everyone from Outgoing that has been thinks it is well worth it. |

Las RamblasLas Ramblas is the city's main thoroughfare, where stalls and shops, street performers, and bustling restaurants converge. La Rambla is also home to Barcelona's Christopher Columbus monument and the Mercat de la Boqueria, where you'll find the fruit and vegetables markets in the summer months. Directly north of Las Ramblas is Placa Catalunya Square which is a great place for shopping...a great place to hang out and watch the city breathe, basically! |
Parc GuellParc Guell is another must-see stop along the Gaudi tour of Barcelona. The park, which spans some 42 acres, is best known for its colourful, mosaic decorations that grace everything from a large dragon to a winding terrace seating area that looks out across the city. Hyde Park on acid, in other words! |

Barcelona BeachWhat better way to escape the bustle of your facst paced university group trip to Barcelona than on the beach? There are 4.2 km of golden sandy beaches only 10 mins from the city centre and 4 main beach areas; Barceloneta, Icaria, Sitges (gay) and Mar Bella beach (Nudist). The fact that Barcelona has such amazing beaches so close to the city centre makes it one of our favourite cities anywhere in the world... |

Picasso MuseumPablo Picasso is one of Spain's most celebrated artists, having contributed boundless flair to the world of art; it's only natural then that a Picasso Museum is located in Barcelona, where he lived in his formative years. Appropriately, you'll find many of his early works here and by the time you'll leave you'll have felt you've been in the presence of a true artist. Y'know just like watching Rolf on 'Animal Hospital' |

Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC)Another top Barcelona museum pick- this place has more paint than B & Q! The Catalan capital's National Museum of Art is impressive both for its grand setting and eye popping collection of works from Goya and Vel'zquez as well as earlier masters. The MNAC holds exhibitions of more contemporary Spanish artists throughout the year as well. |

Port VellLest you forget, just like Sydney, Santa Monica and Scunthorpe, Barcelona is a beach city, and Port Vell is the hub of activity on the water. The Rambla de Mar, a wooden bridge, connects La Rambla with Port Vell's Maremagnum, a sprawling collection of bars, restaurants, shops, and cinemas. Port Vell is also famous for its IMAX theatre and aquarium...sea breeze, great air and cheeky seagulls await! |

Barri GoticBarri Gotic is Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, a neighbourhood near Las Ramblas and the Placa de Catalunya. We love the Barri Gotic for its funky architecture and charming cobblestone streets. This is one of the city's most historic quarters, comprised of Town Hall, Cathedral, and ancient Roman walls. Best of all, there are no cars to disturb the 'bygone days' vibe. |

Montjuic CastleMontjuic Castle has overlooked the city of Barcelona since 1640. The imposing building, situated high atop a hill, served as a political prison under Franco during the Spanish Civil War; today it houses a military museum. The castle is worth visiting for its panoramic views of the city and the Barcelona port which is easily accessed by a fun cable car ride from the beach. |

Camp Nou StadiumA majestic modern stadium and home of F.C. Barcelona, Camp Nou sees all 98,211 seats filled regularly. As any local will tell you, Barca are more than just a football team, they are flag bearers for the Catalan region. So this place is considered culturally central to the surrounding region.Matches take place on Sunday afternoon and will not disappoint you. If you can't make a game, fear not... the next best thing is to take a guided stadium tour...

ShoppingBarcelona is certainly among Europe's cities of style. It's a natural magnet for the fashion-conscious and there is no shortage of design outlets for even the most tireless consumer. Everything from books to jewels, haute couture (local and international), designer furniture, cava and condoms are on offer. For boutiques head for Passage de Gracia or similar streets off Placa de Catalunya. |
NightlifeLike the London Marathon a night out in Barcelona is a long-distance race. Be sure that your group starts slowly so that you are able to face the exuberant party-scene until the early morning. As with everything else in Barcelona, the nightlife sets off a few hours later than normal. its best to start your evening out in one of the numerous bars before hitting one of the nightclubs and student nights(we can organise all this for you too!) |
RazzmatazzDon't be put off by its cheesy name; this place is ace: 5 dance floors and regarded as the mother of all Barcelona clubs, catering for techno and trancey ears, as well as those who prefer indie and punk vibes to avoid sleep to. This means that there is a rather a strange mix of people... at the end of the day though, everyone is happy and the atmosphere incredible! |
BudaThe centre of Barcelona is strangely devoid of glamorous nightspots, or at least it was until Buda came along. The place has lots of throne-style furniture and gilded wallpaper, topped off with a colossal chandelier. The laid-back staff (dancing on the bar seems completely acceptable) and upbeat house music make it one of our faves.... great for drinks and an ogle. |
El BORNPossibly the coolest district of Barcelona with an eclectic mix of friendly chic bars and restaurants.... its more likely to be frequented by locals rather than tourists, however thats why we like it so much. This area is situated within easy walking distance of the Gothic Quarter and is the place to come for the more 'sophisticated' in the group who are after a laid back evening. |
Food & DrinkWhen you're eating out at Barcelona restaurants, expect lots of olive oil, garlic and fish as the main ingredients in your dish! Eating out starts very late with people often going out for dinner from 9.30p.m. Cheap Barcelona restaurants offer amazing food and obviously the best tapas anywhere in the world. |

Whether it is t-shirts, hoodies or crews, our team of graphic designers will make sure that you have something to remember your trip in addition to great memories.
